Each month, members of The Entrepreneur Club meet to learn from seasoned professionals, share knowledge and skills, and develop valuable business relationships.

At the February meeting, Susan Regier, Vantage One Writing & Networking Today, shared 13 lessons she has learned over the past 13 years of operating her business.

• Sometimes you have to be pushed into making a decision (Sue’s push came in the form of a large pick up truck slamming into the back of her car).
• Contracts are king.  Get everything in writing especially when you are on good terms – that’s the time to work out amicable exit strategies.
• Trust your gut…if it doesn’t feel right, don’t do it.
• Believe in yourself and your ideas.
• Be yourself and let “you” show through – in person and in all your promotional material.
• Take risks…what’s the worst that can happen – you get a “no”?
• If you want to change your results, you have to change what you’re dong.  A business coach makes it happen easier and quicker.
• Have a hero…someone you aspire to be. 
• Make networking a part of your life.  Have fun and a goal while doing it.
• Work on your mindset – believe anything is possible. Don’t worry about the “how.”  Make a decision and go for it…the “how” will fall into place.
• You can’t do it alone…you will go further by hiring the right people to help you along the way. 
• You break down just before you break through…embrace it and move forward.
• The more you give, the more you receive.
