Dear Friends,
Welcome to the November 2009 issue of the Small Business Centre Newsletter.
The Small Business Centre's Bridges to Better Business conference was a huge success on Oct. 22. This annual event is a unique, one-day learning and networking event packed with great ideas to help entrepreneurs succeed. Attendees made valuable contacts and shared innovative ideas with peers from their own community and the wider business world. The day featured an informative morning keynote address by Rick Spence, of PROFIT Magazine , an inspiring lunch address by Kendra Gordon Green of The Little Red Roaster, 18 lively roundtable discussions, 3 business building seminars and countless opportunities to network and make new connections. Entrepreneurs gained valuable information on current business trends and came away with new ideas and unique solutions. In fact, 94% of attendees stated that they would likely recommend this event to a colleague and the other 6% "may" as well. Thank you to the many sponsors, supporters, volunteer mentors and facilitators who contributed their time and resources to make this a successful day. Mark your calendar for Oct. 20, 2010 and plan to join us next year. More than 70 guests enjoyed Networking Wednesday this past week at Williams on Wonderland. Thank you to Phil and staff for the great hospitality, food & door prizes. Don't miss our annual Holiday Schmoozefest Networking Wednesday on December 2nd at Aroma Restaurant. Venture London Business Competition has returned for a second year and is now accepting business plan submissions from new and early growth businesses in London. | Shift your marketing tactics for today's economy |

According to various polls, consumer confidence is on the rise. Harris/Decima found that 49% of Canadians now believe it is a good time to make a major purchase. However, Equifax Canada has also reported a 19% rise in the delinquency rate on credit payments and the Ontario Association of Credit Counselling Services has seen a 25% jump in clients. So, while some consumers may be rushing out to make big purchases, others may need to focus on paying down their debt.
What will this mean for your business?
