Welcome to the January 2010 issue of the Small Business Centre Newsletter.

FireworksLoose weight, join a gym, eat more organics ... all typical New Year's resolutions. But why not make a resolution you can actually keep - to make your business better this year? The Small Business Centre offers many services, seminars, and events that can lead you to a more prosperous and productive 2010. We're here to help, below are few suggestions for resolutions you can easily achieve:

#1 Expand your Network.

There's nothing like talking to other business people for sparking new ideas, refining old ones, and making contacts. Our services that can help you with this resolution include monthly Networking Wednesdays, the Entrepreneur's Club, and Bridges to Better Business Annual Conference.

#2 Learn Something New.

When you take the time to learn something new, you are adding value to your business. Plus, it doesn't have to cost a fortune, either. Our services that can help you with this resolution include monthly Advanced Business Series Seminars Legal & Accounting Advisory Services, and Bridges to Better Business Annual Conference.

#3 Make Business Planning a Priority.

Planning is vital if you want a healthy, growing business. Business planning lets you take stock of what worked and what didn't work, and helps you set new directions or adjust old goals. Our services that can help you with this resolution include the Business Planning Workshop, Market Research Consultations, and Business Plan Review Session.

In fact, you can get started on your first two resolutions right away. Attend "Make Your Networking Work" seminar on January 19th.

All Staff and Board members of the Small Business Centre join me in wishing you a happy and successful New Year for 2010.

Each month, members of The Entrepreneur's Club meet to learn from seasoned professionals, share knowledge and skills, and develop valuable business relationships.

At the December meeting, we had an open Q & A format directing questions to member David Sanders, Camberwell House Law Firm.  We were able to have our questions answered regarding contract laws and how they can affect small business owners.

Are you interested in becoming a member of The Entrepreneur's Club?

Attend a Water Cooler meeting to find out what we're all about.  All you have to do is pay for breakfast. Attend two meetings without obligation...and then we'd love to have you join us regularly.

Check out our Searchable Directory. You can be included, too...simply become a member of The Entrepreneur's Club - it's part of your membership fee.

Join us at our next meeting on Wednesday, January 20th at 7:00 a.m.
